Worksafe launched the WorkHealth campaign in 2010 to raise the importance of a health and wellbeing for the Victorian workforce.  The purpose of the campaign is to encourage employers to sign up for WorkHealth checks, and encourage employees to participate in the WorkHealth checks when they are offered at their workplace.

The campaign has already highlighted what a WorkHealth check involves and some of the business benefits of providing WorkHealth checks to employees.

The most recent campaign, launched in September 2011, takes an emotional approach and demonstrates what could happen if Victorians aren’t aware of serious health risks.  The campaign urges employers to sign up for free WorkHealth checks to help keep their workers healthy and happy.

February 2011 - Suppose

A typical busy working mum suffers a heart attack after missing out on the opportunity to have a free WorkHealth check.  A confidential WorkHealth check can identify her risk of developing a preventable chronic disease, enabling her to do something about it before it becomes a life threatening problem.

February 2011 – Care

A worker is seen undertaking a WorkHealth check.  The results from WorkHealth checks conducted found that 66% of participants had a risk of developing type 2 diabetes or heart disease.  It encourages employers to sign up for WorkHealth checks, because they care about their workers.

February 2010 - Absent

Empty seats are seen in offices, people are missing from production lines and cash registers are closed.  The workers are absent so that they can undertake a 15 minute WorkHealth check to assess their risk of developing preventable chronic diseases; type 2 diabetes and heart disease,, so that they can do something about them and prevent more time off in the future.
