A number of public WorkHealth checks are held each month. These checks provide workers with the same level of privacy and information as the WorkHealth checks conducted in the workplace.
Participating in a public WorkHealth check won't cost you a cent - they are free.
Public WorkHealth checks are a great alternative if:
- You run a small business and do not have the capacity (or space) to organise WorkHealth checks within your workplace. Simply direct your staff to an event in your area.
- You are a worker wanting a WorkHealth check, but feel more comfortable not having the check at your workplace.
What happens at a public WorkHealth check?
- A public WorkHealth check is the same as those offered at the workplace. These checks are staffed by WorkHealth and conducted by WorkSafe endorsed health providers.
- Your employer is not informed of your attendance or your results.
- Depending on the size of the event, there is anywhere from two to six checks offered at the one time.
- The checks are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bookings may be taken at the event.
- Checks are conducted in private booths to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
- You are not required to remove your clothes during a WorkHealth check.
